Thank you for visiting my website. I appreciate your support of my work. I have such fun sharing my books at schools, libraries, festivals and conferences. At every stop, I meet amazing kids and educators. I always leave feeling inspired.
I'm thrilled to share that my Jada Jones chapter book series is here. It's published by Penguin Workshop and illustrated by the amazing Vanessa Brantley Newton. To celebrate the release, we kicked off the Rules for Being a Rock Star contest open to kids in first-fourth grade.
Thanks to friends like you our launch at Quail Ridge Books was a hit. We're keeping the party going. You can celebrate with Vanessa and me 2 p.m. Saturday, October 21 at Richard B. Harrison Library in Raleigh and 1 p.m. Sunday, October 22 at Park Road Books in Charlotte.
Here are more of my tour dates.
Wishing you laughter, peace and lots of love. Thanks for celebrating children's literature.
Growing up, I loved hanging out with grandma. One of my favorite memories is helping her make tea cakes. Our relationship inspired Tea Cakes for Tosh, illustrated by E.B. Lewis.

"This sweet one is perfect for the holidays and anytime."
“Kelly Starling Lyons' book is as sweet as the recipe it contains for that all-time favorite, tea cakes . . . A beautiful story with accurate beautiful images telling a delicious morsel of a narrative."
